Made from Pinot Noir (just like red Sancerre), this particular bottle comes from the Chavet family who have been cultivating their vineyards in the heart of the Menetou-Salon appellation since the 17th century. This single-plot cuvée comes from one of the estate’s oldest Pinot Noir vineyards (65 years old). Raised in old barriques, this satisfyingly ripe but tart-edged wine shows bright raspberry and damson fruit, tinged with cinnamon, smoky black tea, and cherry stones.
