Legal Age

You must be at least 18 years of age to purchase any alcoholic product. By placing your order on our website, on the phone, or in person at one of our events, you are hereby representing to us that you are at least 18. All products delivered must be received by an adult aged at least 18 years.

By purchasing a product from us online, you agree that you are bound by the following Terms and Conditions:

All products are sold "as-is", without any representations or warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or other description of physical condition. Despite this, if there is any problem with a product or delivery from us, please contact us and we shall endeavour to help in whatever way we can.

All risk of loss and damage to a product passes to you upon shipment of the product purchased. We are not responsible for any acts or omissions in connection with the packing or shipping of the products or of the carriers, whether or not recommended or selected by us.

These Terms and Conditions of Sale, as well as your and our respective rights and obligations hereunder, shall be governed by and construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. You consent to this exclusive jurisdiction with any product purchased from us. In no event shall our liability ever exceed the purchase price actually paid by you for such product.

None of these terms affect your statutory rights under consumer protection law.

Purchasing

All products are offered subject to availability and remain the property of Vin Cognito until payment is received in full. All goods offered are subject to availability, errors and omissions excepted. Goods are offered on sale or return only by specific arrangement approved by a VinCognito representative.

We shall retain title to all goods (other than goods in your direct physical possession following delivery or collection and payment in full for those goods) sold by us until all the sums due from you in respect of any order have been paid. Any bank charges raised by the paying bank are payable by the customer and if incurred will be re-invoiced for immediate payment.

We shall not be liable for any delay or failure to meet our obligations occasioned by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

None of these terms affect your consumer rights.

Prices and availability

All listed prices include VAT. Unless marked otherwise, listed prices of wine imported to the UK include all shipping costs to the UK and duty. Prices do not included the cost of delivery to the customer, which will be calculated and displayed in the process of placing an order.

The prices quoted are those valid at the time of publication. Due to circumstances beyond our control, prices may have to be altered up or down, for example due to variations to the rates of VAT and excise duty.

The online shop function is intended to show only products that are currently in stock and available for dispatch. On rare occasions a product may appear as available on the website but is not available (e.g. we may have just sold the last bottles but the system has not updated yet). In this unlikely event we will contact you to let you know when the product will next be in stock and/or recommend a similar alternative. You will also have the option of a full refund through Stripe.

Shopping system

The Vin Cognito online shopping system allows you to purchase wines, beer, spirits and related merchandise for delivery to any UK through our secure shopping system. All major credit and debit cards are accepted through our payment service provider Stripe, which provides a high level of data encryption and ensures secure transmission and processing of your details.

You do not need to be registered on our website to order from us. The site is fully secure and supports encryption during the purchasing process, but if you would prefer to order by phone you can ring us directly on 07747 012 251 or 07973 600 789 (between the hours of 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday) to place an order or email us at wine@vincognito.co.uk.

Order Confirmation

You will be notified by e-mail as soon as we receive your order. Please ensure that you enter your e-mail address on the order form. If we have any queries regarding your order, we will contact you via e-mail or telephone. If there are any disparities between the details that you have given us and records held to check against fraud, we may not dispatch goods until you have returned any queries that we have made to the contact details you have given.

Wines out of stock

If you place an order and the goods are out of stock, we will inform you ASAP via e-mail or telephone. Please ensure that you submit your correct e-mail and telephone details on the order form.

If your order contains multiple items, we can either wait for the out-of-stock item to arrive and ship everything together, or ship the order separately. In such cases we will contact you to seek your instructions.

When should I expect to receive my wine?

Once your order has been received we will contact you within 24 hours to confirm it and give you some delivery options. Orders can usually be dispatched the next day, with a 2-3 day delivery time within the UK. We offer weekend deliveries and we also offer evening deliveries to London postcodes. Right to cancel

If you are a customer and order anything from us you have statutory rights in the United Kingdom to cancel the order and return any goods ordered in exchange for a refund, provided said goods are in the same condition as supplied.

Your statutory right to cancel an order starts the moment you place your order and ends 7 working days from the day after you receive your goods. Confirmation of your cancellation should be in writing and either emailed (wine@vincognito.co.uk) or posted to us (see our Contact Us page for our postal address). We will refund the cost of the original outbound shipment to you. However, at our discretion, we reserve the right to ask you to cover the cost of returning the item.

You are responsible for ensuring that the goods are received by us and are not damaged in transit. Goods should therefore be securely packaged. We recommend that you return items using recorded delivery for your protection.

We want you to be totally satisfied with every purchase you make from Vin Cognito, so will endeavor to be as accommodating as possible should you wish to cancel or return an order. In most circumstances we will be prepared to extend the legal minimum period of 7 days to 14 days.

Privacy/Security

We hold the highest respect for our customers and guarantee our commitment to your privacy. We do not sell any of the information provided by you to any other institutions. By registering with us and/or buying products from us online, you will automatically be added to our mailing list, but you do have the option to "opt-out". If at anytime you would like to be removed from our list, simply click the opt-out button in the e-mail or contact us by phone, and you will be removed immediately.

As a customer, you reserve the right to be concerned about the security of your credit card information. Please be assured that your financial information is sent to us via encrypted data and can therefore not be hacked, received, or deciphered by other merchants or people with malicious intentions. We have taken steps to ensure your privacy and security by using the highest levels of encryption security. Any use (including copying, reproduction, duplication, transmission, or display of the content of this website, without the express written permission of Vin Cognito) for purposes other than the viewing of information or for ordering of goods, is strictly prohibited.

Permission is granted to electronically copy, and to print in hard copy, portions of this website for the sole purpose of placing an order with VinCognito or using this website as a shopping resource.
