A pure Sauvignon Blanc from one of the Loire’s lesser-known appellations, Valençay, which lies roughly halfway between Tours and Sancerre. Aromas of lychee and gooseberry leap up like a pair of synchronised trampolinists and the palate is wonderfully juicy and full of tangy passion fruit and citrus flavour. It is made by France’s smallest co-op, with only two members! Let’s hope they don’t fall out. 12% alc. Drink now-2027
