Only 6 barrels of this beauty were produced, a volume that is along the lines of some of the rarest white Burgundies! It’s a Chardonnay of the very highest calibre and there is only one drawback: we only have 6 bottles. My tasting note is pretty useless, as it just says “OMG! Wow! Dynamite!”.

In the glass, the 2021 Cuvée Aux Antipodes Blanc has a freshly crushed curry leaf character, and behind this, it is sumptuous and complex, layered with ripe stone fruit, flowers and jasmine tea. The wine in the mouth is undulating and perfumed, a brilliant expression of place, but also a triumph of winemaking. There’s almond, salted pear, a whiff of blond tobacco, apple blossom and brine.
