“A thoroughly exciting Chardonnay.” - The Wine Advocate, 96+ points

“Fabulous.”- Decanter

A new winery on the Australian wine scene and a very, very exciting one too, which has hit the ground running. This lit up our tastebuds like a fruit machine paying out the jackpot, it’s such a dazzling, dynamic kaleidoscope of flavours, it’s hard to know where to look. We found live-wire limes (surely you know what an electrocuted lime tastes like?), toasted walnuts, grapefruit, struck flint, lemon syllabub and honeysuckle, but no doubt you will find your own impressions (if so, please let us know what they are!). A thrillingly modern Australian Chardonnay to add to the ever-growing list of thrillingly modern Australian Chardonnays (e.g. Ministry of Clouds, Tolpuddle, Murdoch Hill, La Violetta, Lowboi, Giaconda etc.). 13% alc. Drink now-2035.

Press reviews:

The Wine Advocate: “This 2022 leads with gentle reduction, flinty complexity and loads of acid and fruit in the mouth. This is abundantly composed, vigorously svelte and polished while being authentic. You get salted peach, preserved citrus, jasmine tea, star anise, clove, cut fennel and a line of graphite through the phenolics. This is a thoroughly exciting Chardonnay to drink and to ponder - risky acidity brings crunch and crackle, fleshy fruit envelopes the mouth, and there's a curved line of phenolics through the finish. 13% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink now-2037.” 96+ points

The Wine Companion: “A wine like this will stop you in your tracks and demand you take time to smell the roses or, with this, lemon blossoms. It’s a gorgeous offering with moreish sulphides, flint and, of course, powered by acidity and the excellent fruit. There’s a touch of lemon curd and creamy lees across the highly strung palate, pulsing with electrifying acidity. It’s invigorating, savoury, sleek and chic.” 96 points

Decanter: “Creamy on the nose, with a fair whack of funk underpinned by white floral prettiness. Yes, there’s cheesecloth, curd, flint and oatmeal pastry, but also plenty of preserved lemon, pith and rock salt. Structured, tailored, driven and powerful on the palate, brioche creaminess and a layered talcy phenolic grip keep it grounded. Fabulous. Drink now-2034.” 95 points
