A great value alternative to Sauvignon Blanc, sharing some of that grape’s lively aromas of passion fruit and gooseberry, but it avoids the ‘cat’s pee’ and ‘tinned asparagus’ notes that can make certain Sauvignon Blancs quite tiresome to drink after the first glass. This feels much sleeker and brighter and cleaner. It’s a blend of Colombard, Gros Manseng & Petit Manseng from the Gascony region, halfway between Bordeaux and Toulouse. As well as the aforementioned fruits, there’s a welcome suggestion of wet slate, lime and sugar snap peas, as well as Gros Manseng’s trademark grapefruit tang.
