“A superbly elegant example of Crozes-Hermitage.” - Jamie Goode, 95 points
“A terrific wine.” - The Wine Advocate, 92+ points
This is the Syrah grape in a silk kimono, quite different from its other incarnations in the Languedoc or Australia, where it can mostly be found at the gym wearing a weightlifter’s leotard. The fruit here is flowing and elegant, floral and perfumed with violets, blueberries, black cherries and white pepper. 13% alc. Drink now-2032.
Press reviews:
Jamie Goode: “This is a lovely wine, with a core of sweet red and black cherries, some olive tapenade, and then fine pepper and herb notes. Floral and fine, but with enough structure to balance out the sweet fruit, this is a superbly elegant example of Crozes-Hermitage. 13% alc.” 95 points
The Wine Advocate: “The 2022 Crozes-Hermitage Les Trois Chênes is a terrific wine, wafting from the glass with aromas of violets, mulberries, spices, pepper and flowers, all beautifully intertwined with a lovely reduction. Medium to full-bodied, enveloping and polished, it's very charming with a fleshy, gourmand core of fruit and velvety tannins, culminating in a long, sensual and ethereal finish. It was matured for 16 months in a combination of barrels and large barrels, with less than 10% being new. Drink 2026-2036.” 92+ points
