Maybe it’s the limestone soil or maybe it’s my imagination, but there does seem to be a seam of chalk running through this Fiano, giving it much more of a mineral aspect than the Fianos we are more familiar with. It adds an extra layer of intrigue to a grape that can be a little one-dimensional and it matches smartly, like a well coordinated outfit, with the lime, grapefruit and wheat grist notes that make this such a perfect white for pairing with seafood or indeed any dish that requires a squeeze of lemon. 13.5% alc.
